You don’t need a fancy hedge trimmer to trim your bushes you can use a small hand pruner. If you have an electric hedge trimmer then, by all means, use it but it is not necessary when clipping your bushes. I like to have rounded shrubs, the contrast between the squareness of the house and the round shrubs is pleasing to the eye. Start off by cutting your shrubs into squares and then round the corners.
PAINT
Use leftover paint to touch up the house trim and front door. Painting the front door a complementary color or the classic black is a great way to add curb appeal for FREE. Have several paint cans but not the exact colors you want for the front door. Try your hand at mixing a custom color. If your willing to spend a few dollars, head to the Oops Paint section at your local paint store.
CLEAN
The easiest way to do this is by using a power washer. If you don’t own one ask around to see if a family member or neighbor will let you borrow one for the day. EDGE
Edging your flower borders and grass makes a big difference and makes everything look well cared for and tidy. I have had on my wish list for a long time a gasoline-powered edger, but for the last twenty years of home-ownership, I have used a straight-edged spade to edge everything.
