I have to confess it is still a struggle for me but I am making progress.  The determination to renew your mind with God’s word can go a long way in transforming your life.  As it says in Psalm 119:11 I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.   God in His infinite wisdom has provided a way for us as believers to know our Savior more through the meditation on His Word!

As I have said, memorizing Scripture or actually anything is difficult for me, so my natural tendency is to avoid it since I find it hard.  Here are a few tips that have helped me over the year to pursue memorization even though it’s difficult.

Psalm 43:3 is a beautiful verse about God’s character.  He is the light and truth!  I am excited to share with you the Psalm 43:3 FREE Printable in the hopes that it will cause you to meditate day and night on His Word!

Two words captured my attention right away in Psalm 43:3, the words light and truth.  In scripture, the light or to enlighten and truth can be used interchangeably.  We all want the truth.  It enables us to have faith and then to trust.  It is the basis on which we build our relationship with a Holy God.  Further in the verse, we see the end goal, to be with God.

I pray that the Holy Spirit will enlighten us with the truth of God’s Word so that we may increase our faith and experience the presence of God in our daily lives.

Post the verse you are memorizing everywhere.  Seeing it posted around your house and in your car or wallet will help renew your mind with the transforming power of God’s Word.

Reading my Bible daily and participating in devoted prayer, changes every area of your life.  When I forget to do my daily quiet time with God, my kids are quick to ask, “Mom, did you talk with Jesus today?”  Praying Scripture and meditating on it helps us slow down and identify what really needs to get done.  What’s on God’s agenda?
