If you can’t find me on my front porch reading a book you can certainly find me out in the garden with my family!  I may just be one of the few people who love bees and are not afraid of them.  They fascinate me and I desperately want them in my garden!  Here are my favorite Flowers That Attract Bees.  (It was really hard to get the list down to 20.)

U.S. National Agricultural Statistics show a honey bee decline from about 6 million hives in 1947 to 2.4 million hives in 2008, a 60 percent reduction. In the United States, most crops require bee pollination.  In my own home garden which has perennials, annuals and vegetables I have managed to have my yard a haven for honey bees.  I have seen the results in the size, quality and increased vegetable production since I made it my aim to attract as many bees as I could in my Ohio yard.

MONEY SAVING TIP

Save the seeds from these flowers after they bloom.  Collect the dried flowers and dry them in small paper lunch bags.  Label and keep in a cool dry spot until next year.  You will save money and the bees will thank you!
