One of the hardest things for me about going gluten-free is that you have to give up the pastries at Starbucks! Not anymore, here is my tried and true recipe for Gluten Free Starbucks Copycat Pumpkin Scones!  Autumn is filled up to overflowing with all sorts of good things!

I will say this, though, Starbucks has made a real effort to have gluten-free options available.  They have their gluten-free marshmallow dream bar and now a flour-less chewy chocolate cookie! However, the delicious pumpkin scone is NOT gluten-free.

My daughters and I spent the weekend combining about 5 different copycat pumpkin scone recipes to come up with the following gluten-free option for you all. May you enjoy every single bite…

  1. Hi! Thanks for this recipe! I was wondering if I could use Bobs Red Mill GF 1to1 Baking Flour in place of your mix? Would I need to adjust any ingredients if so?

    Thank you!
    Shannon

    1. Sure can! Hope you enjoy them as much as we do!

  2. Thank you so much for a star recipe!!!! In the last three days I have made this recipe 5 times!! Once for thanksgiving breakfast, once for my daughter’s birthday party, once for visiting guests, and twice for church refreshments. I have egg free, gluten free, dairy free kids and make some adjustments to your original recipe. Everyone thinks they are incredible. This is a definite keeper, thanks for sharing!!!!!

    1. I am so thankful you enjoyed the recipe…we love it too!

  3. Wondering what your favorite brand of gf flour is. These are in the oven now. I made them with Bob’s Red Mill flour and the dough seemed to have a strange after taste. I’m not gf, so just wondering and trying something new. Thanks!

    1. Hi Elizabeth, I either use my own g.f. mix or Bob’s Red Mill. If you are not gluten free it is pretty common for it to have an aftertaste. I find that the Bob’s Red Mill One to One Flour has less of an aftertaste than the Bob’s Red Mill G.F. Mix made from bean flours. Thanks for stopping by and I hope this will help!

  4. When you say. 11/2 ground cloves…you mean teaspoons, right? Sory to ask, i am a literal recipe follower for measurements. Thx

    1. Hi Sylvie, Thanks for pointing this out! Yes…it is 1 1/2 tsp. cloves. Hope you enjoy this delicious recipe!

  5. Omg…… I have to try this!!!! 😮 😀 !!!

    -Thank you!!!

  6. Do you have to cut them after they bake?

    1. Hi Sheila,
You should not have to cut them after you bake. Hope this helps!

  7. Is there a reginal difference in what they serve? No Starbucks in any of the places I’ve lived has had gf anything in the pastry case in many years. So now I need to go in and check. Lol

    1. Hi Kathy,
This is a good question! I know mine does have some gluten-free options but it could be regional. I’m in Ohio. Have fun on your Starbucks fieldtrip!

  8. Love these!
Best GF recipe for pumpkin scones I have made! I have tried many….not so good recipes.
I used Bob Red Mill GF 1 to 1 flour & it worked great!

I baked them as 8 smaller scoops/rounds for 18mins & they were perfect!

    1. Thank you so much for letting me know, Genia! I so appreciate you!
