Apply Philippians 2:3 And Change Your Marriage – Yep, you heard me right this one verse will change you and your marriage! A few weeks ago my pastor said that if we really wanted to change the world we should apply Philippians 2:3 in our marriage. He even went so far as to say that we, as Christians should make this verse apart of our wedding vows.
For the record, I agree!
Think about how many marriages could be saved!!! How many wounded relationships, broken families, abused kids could be prevented if we applied Philippians 2:3 to every area of our lives!
I understand that what I am recommending can only be accomplished by having a relationship with Jesus Christ and understanding that loved and accepted by a holy God. You could also get easily confused when reading this verse and think that you are not important. STOP That is not what this verse is saying. Before you can apply this verse to your marriage you must understand that you belong to God, you are significant and secure in His love. He isn’t going anywhere, he has a purpose for you!
Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit,
but in humility count others
more significant than yourselves.

Apply Philippians 2:3 And Change Your Marriage
- Pray for your husband.
- Ask your husband how you can help him?
- When you receive constructive criticism respond in humility. Admit there could be more than one way of doing things. 🙂
- Pray for harmony and unity in your marriage.
- Spend 15 minutes a day of uninterrupted time with your husband.
- Ask him about the things he is interested in.
