Christmas is Jesus’s Birthday, so it makes perfect sense to have a Christmas birthday cake for Jesus. It is great fun for the children in the family to get together and make a cake for Jesus! We have always had this tradition, and we even sing Happy Birthday to Jesus, but we get to blow out the candles. Having a cake sets the tone for our family Christmas Celebration.
Our family intentionally chooses to participate in these activities to ensure that the family is focusing on the true meaning of Christmas. In the busyness of the holiday season, it is easy to lose focus. Slowing down and participating in treasured family traditions makes any celebration more meaningful. Before we open any gifts, we always do four things.
Christmas Birthday Cake for Jesus
1. Read Luke 2 in the Bible.
2. Sing Happy Birthday to Jesus and eat Birthday cake.
3. Light the Christmas candle on the Advent wreath.
4. Give Jesus a Christmas Present.
Happy Birthday to you,
Happy Birthday to you,
Happy Birthday, Lord Jesus,
Happy Birthday to you!
This is the cake that we have always made. I make it gluten-free now, but it started as a glutenous recipe. Such a simple recipe and so easy to make! This is incredibly important when we are tempted to rush our way through the holiday! Enjoy every moment while making this delicious recipe!
