Welcome to day fourteen of Organize Your Home in 31 Days the Frugal Way. Today’s challenge is to organize your computer without spending money on any fancy systems. We are going to make it easy for the non-techy person which by the way includes me. I am, however, fortunate to have a son that has almost completed his degree in computer science. He has been a tremendous help in the writing of this post.
I find that I can save a whole lot of money by using my computer and online resources. The generosity of others who share their talents freely is encouraging. Free printables, free downloads, free educational resources, coupons, free books, free programs, free courses, it is amazing what you can find online for free. The problem is how do you know what sources are safe?
As a general rule. Do not download anything that you don’t know the source of! (I have accidentally done this and ruined my computer!) Please be careful. Here is a FREE program to remove malware from your computer. My son uses this at work and on his home computers. We also have NetNanny installed on all our computers
Let’s get started, I have divided these tasks into three sections.
CLEAN your computer at the very least once a month. If you haven’t been organizing and discarding files as you go, it’s likely your hard drive is stuffed with downloads, unwanted photos, file copies and other things that you have no idea where they came from. If you don’t clean your computer it will run slower and even make some interesting noises! FILE FOLDERS AND PHOTOS
