The Peaceful Haven Manifesto was written some time ago.  It took a retreat away from “real life” for me to put into words the values and vision of this very special ministry. Not many people are writing about Christ-Centered Slow Living, actually, no one that I am aware of so that makes us one of a kind.  The Manifesto has been hiding out on the ABOUT page (and still will) of The Peaceful Haven, where not many people read it.  I thought it was time to bring these thoughts into the light of day.

The Peaceful Haven Manifesto

Love God More

Encouraging women to value worshiping God in Spirit and truth,

loving God, and loving his people in every area of their lives.

Equipping women to navigate through the Word of God, The Holy Bible,

for the truth about all of life.

Educating women in the Spiritual Disciplines of Christianity.

Wellness

Our body was created by God and we are the temple of the Holy Spirit.

Scriptural approach to the mind, body, and spirit.

Natural, healthy, living allows us to fulfill our personal call to serve God, our family,

and the people of the world and glorify Him forever.

Healthy Nutritious Delicious

Family-friendly recipes are full of healthy, organic ingredients for every occasion and meal.

Allergy-friendly food made easy, nutritious, and yes, delicious!

Hospitality, meal preparation, cooking skills, and tips.

Thrift

Approaching life with thankfulness for the gifts God has given us.

Applying the principle of thrift as a creative lifestyle.

Reduce, reuse, and recycle to be good stewards of God’s provision in our lives.

Tools, projects, and tips to eliminate debt and save money.

Slow and Steady

Valuing thoughtful, intentional Christ-Centered Slow Living over, busyness.

Family and relationships over activities.

Slow and steady leads to a meaningful, God-honoring life

of prayerful, intentional choices.

Do No Harm

Love your neighbor as yourself,

which includes your next-door neighbor as well as the family

living in the dump across the world.

We seek to promote and use only products and practices

that allow families to live healthy and sustainable lives.

We support protecting God’s creation and using His resources wisely.

Family

The purpose of the family is to glorify God.

Marriage and parenting are sacred and sacrificial.

When a family lives in humbleness and forgiveness the home is heaven’s reflection.

Beauty Comfort Calm

Beauty is not bought it is created.

It is a calm morning praying to God,

the smile of a child as they figure out something for the first time.

The design, simplicity, and comfort of a room or the sunset watched together

in the backyard.  Homegrown flowers, delicious food, and long walks together.

A hand-knitted sweater and dishes were found at the thrift store.

Holding a child’s hand and parents kissing.

Homemaking

The heart of the family is nurtured through homemaking.

The spiritual development of marriage and family is encouraged and grown through homemaking.

The world is changed by homemaking through discipleship.

The goal of homemaking is living out the gospel, loving well, and affecting the world for good.

Encourage Equip Educate

Every post encourages women from all backgrounds

to wholeheartedly follow Jesus Christ in every area of her life.

Blessings,
