The BEST Lemon Oil Dust Cloths – Cleaning is not my forte as you have heard me state before.  I do however LOVE these lemon oil dust cloths, they have become a must-have in my cleaning pantry.  They really do the job and leave your wood furniture shiny, not greasy, and actually nourishes the wood in your home. Best of all is that they are completely non-toxic, healthy and will save you money!

Did I mention they smell amazing which gives me added motivation to dust my home?  I frankly need all the help I can get!

Here is some added motivation when you don’t feel like taking the dust rag to your home.

Dust mite allergy is an allergic reaction to tiny bugs that commonly live in house dust. Signs of dust mite allergy include those common to hay fever, such as sneezing and runny nose. Many people with dust mite allergy also experience signs of asthma, such as wheezing and difficulty breathing.

Dust mites, close relatives of ticks and spiders, are too small to see without a microscope. Dust mites eat skin cells shed by people, and they thrive in warm, humid environments. In most homes, such items as bedding, upholstered furniture and carpeting provide an ideal environment for dust mites.

The BEST Lemon Oil Dust Cloths

Supplies 

glass jar or jars

men’s cotton undershirt cut into squares or cotton washcloths

white vinegar

water

lemon essential oil

pyrex 11×13 baking dish

Directions 

1. Pour two parts water and two parts white vinegar into the pyres 11×13 baking dish.
2. Add eleven drops of lemon essential oil to the water and vinegar mixture.  Stir with a metal spoon.
3. place the cotton clothes in the pyrex baking dish to absorb the oil, vinegar, and water mixture.  Let soak for one hour.
4. Remove the cloths from the liquid and wring/tightly squeeze the water from the dust cloths.  They should be damp to the touch.
5. Place lemon oil dust cloths into a glass jar and seal with the lid.
6. After dusting wash your dust cloths in hot water or boil them and repeat the process.
