Looking for ways to save money around the house?  As it turns out, changing the little things around your home usually makes a greater difference in your finances than changing just one big thing.  All those small details really add up to big savings.  I am happy to share my tried and true recipe for Homemade Grain-Free Baking Powder!

An added benefit to this recipe is that it is grain-free.  Refined grains have been linked to higher levels of inflammatory markers in the blood, which is not only bad for your health, but may also increase your risk for other inflammatory conditions, such as heart disease, autoimmune diseases, and diabetes.  This recipe calls for using arrowroot powder which is well…a root otherwise known as a tuber!

Homemade Grain-Free Baking Powder

Makes Approximately 1 Quart

Ingredients

1 cup Arrowroot Powder

1 cup Cream of Tartar

1/2 cup Baking Soda

*1 Quart canning jar with lid

DIRECTIONS

  1. Measure and pour all the ingredients into the canning jar or storage unit of your choice.  A canning funnel on hand will make it much easier if you pour the ingredients into a canning jar.
  2. Seal the jar or container and shake well.
  3. Store in your pantry.
