It’s that time of year again cough, cold, and flu season.  Never fear I have something that will help, Immune Boosting Elderberry Tea!  This tea is quick and easy to make and packs a powerful immune-strengthening punch.

Elderberries are HEALTHY and include minerals like iron, phosphorous, and copper.  It is a wonderful source of vitamins A, B, and Vitamin C!  Vitamin C is much needed in the cold and flu season.  It also is anti-inflammatory…Yahoo!  *One Caution, if you have any autoimmune disease go very lightly on the elderberries and a little heavier on the other ingredients in this nutritious tea.

 

 

Immune Boosting Elderberry Tea

Serves 4

 

Ingredients

4 cups boiling purified water

4 TBS. dried elderberries

3 TBS dried mint leaves

1/2 tsp. cinnamon

1/2 tsp. turmeric

1 tsp. raw honey

 

DIRECTIONS

  1. Bring the four cups of purified water to a boil.
  2. In a large tea strainer, combine all the ingredients and steep in the water for 8 minutes.
  3. Add 1 tsp. raw honey to the teapot before serving.

  • Calendula
  • Echinacea (omit if you have an autoimmune disease)
  • Garlic
  • Ginger
  • Licorice root
  • Olive leaf (go very light if you have an autoimmune disease)
  • Oregano essential oil
