No one can make up their mind.   What exactly is a Healthy Diet?

It depends on who you ask…

There are literally thousands of diets. Some are for losing weight, others for gaining weight, lowering cholesterol, allergy-friendly, or living a long and healthy life.

Here are just a few of the most popular diets of our day.

  1. Atkins Diet
  2. The Zone Diet
  3. Vegetarian Diet
  4. Vegan Diet
  5. Weight Watchers Diet
  6. South Beach Diet
  7. Raw Food Diet
  8. Mediterranean Diet
  9. The Paleo Diet
  10. Gluten-Free Diet
  11. Whole 30 Diet

So many choices but which one is the right one?

There is only one thing to do in my opinion and that is to ask God.  He is all the creator of human life.  He knows what our bodies need to survive and thrive.  Many people, me included, can get easily off track with all the dietary choices that are available to us.  We can put our trust in them and fail to consult God on this very important issue.

When addressing the area of a healthy diet we need to contemplate two very important issues.  The first is what God says our bodies need to live and the other is special needs we each may have.  For example, I have Celiac Disease so I must modify God’s plan for eating certain grains in my diet.

I would like to recommend that as you start your journey toward good health, you consider reading two thought-provoking books.   What the Bible Says About Healthy Living and The Maker’s Diet.

For the purpose of understanding and user-friendliness, the diet that most closely resembles what the Bible has to say about nutrition is the Mediterranean Diet.

As you can see the Mediterranean Diet Food Pyramid doesn’t just include nutrition but exercise too!  Lucky us 🙂

The Mediterranean Diet is a way of eating based on the foods of the countries surrounding the Mediterranean Sea.  Don’t think of the Mediterranean Diet as a “Diet” but rather a lifestyle which includes food, activities, friends and family, and wine in moderation with meals. (As you can see this is very similar to life depicted in the Bible.)  If you are a person who bases their decisions on facts then you will love that the Mediterranean Diet because it has been studied and researched and has stood the test of time.  Just as important, the Mediterranean Diet is full of wonderfully delicious, flavor-filled meals.   I love how God is interested in all areas of our life!

One of the most helpful products that I have used in making sure that I receive essential nutrients, metabolism benefits, and powerful antioxidants and provide 12 servings of fruits and vegetables I need to maintain good health is called Life Long Vitality Supplements.  At the time of this writing, I have been taking it for four years and it has transformed my health and nutrition as well as reduce the inflammation in my body for my seven autoimmune diseases!  I highly recommend this product to you!

  1. Hi Janelle,
    Great post!

I am gluten sensitive so I do eat gluten fee. However, I have more of an issue with processed foods. Unfortunately, I also have IBS. The “diet” I do best with is soft mushy foods. I make 99% of our meals from scratch. I do have a sweet tooth and I LOVE to bake. I try to eat sweets in moderation.

    Blessings,
