I have to be honest, I love checklists but I hesitated when coming up with a Spiritual Health Checklist.

Faith in Jesus Christ cannot be simplified into a checklist.  It is so much more than that!  Jesus sets you free and allows you to live a worshipful and giving life.  His forgiveness is what gives us the opportunity to move past our failures and have a fresh start every morning.  He is the source of all our joy and is our ever-present help in times of trouble.  Our relationship with our Savior cannot be put into a box or checklist.  Our salvation is based on faith in Jesus’s death and resurrection.

On the other hand, part of being a growing Christian is learning the spiritual disciplines of the Christian Faith.  Growing in the likeness of Christ means an honest evaluation of our Spiritual Health. Living a healthy balanced life cannot occur if we are spiritually unhealthy.  We can be physically fit, drink plenty of water and eat only grass-fed meat and organic produce and we will still be unhealthy if we are unwilling to address the spiritual aspect of our lives.  Being spiritually healthy is of critical importance if we desire to thrive.

Let’s take a moment to slow down and think about our personal relationship with God.

It is my prayer that you do not feel overwhelmed by this Spiritual Health Checklist.  Prayer will help you discern the area you should start working on first.  Remember, it must be God’s power made perfect in our weakness.  We cannot just determine to change.   We need God’s strength to enable us to make changes and live a life that glorifies Him!
